KQ Golf Safaris

In 2009, Kenya Airways decided to invest in golf as a sport.

Kenya Airways invested in golf for two main reasons; to help in positioning Kenya as a golfing destination and to create a platform on which we can interact with our clients more closely.

Besides sponsoring golf tournaments locally, Kenya Airways has  been supporting golfing events in countries the airline flies to. The Kenya Airways Golf Safari Series has now become regular feature on the continental golf calendar.

The ongoing KQ Golf Safari Series, which began in September 2011, will host 35 tournaments in 18 destinations. The inaugural tournament was played at the Limuru Country Club in Nairobi. The Grand Finale was held at the Windsor Golf and Country Club on February 27. Leading golfers from around the continent  participated

Kenya Airways has since hosted another 7 tournaments locally in Kenya and 16 internationally in Cairo, Accra, Harare, Dakar, Kigali, Dar es Salaam, Kampala, Abidjan, Seychelles, Ndola and Douala among other destinations.

The Golf Series gives Kenya Airways an avenue to market Kenya to travel agents in participating destinations. Winners in all destinations get opportunity to play golf in Kenya which has the best golf courses on the continent outside of South Africa.

We have partnered with the Kenya Golf Union to host the local events. To signal our commitment to the development of the sport, we donated Ksh500,000 towards the Kenya Junior Golf Foundation.
