Kenya Airways Operating Performance, 1st QTR – APR to JUN 2007

Kenya Airways releases its operating results for the first quarter ended 30th June 2007.

Capacity of 2,634m measured in seat kilometres was put to the market during the quarter which represents a growth of 13% against prior year same period where 2,339m seat kilometres were offered.

Following the incident on 5th May 2007 involving flight KQ507, Kenya Airways can report progress in identifying the remains.

By Friday last week, all the relevant data relating to identification was forwarded from Bosnia to the government of Cameroon. That was the result of the involvement of one of the world's most advanced laboratories in this technology.
Kenya Airways and its representatives in Douala are working closely with the Cameroonian government to bring to a conclusion the identification process and update to the victims families. Key activities also include the repatriation of remains and available property to the next of kin.

Kenya Airways is eagerly awaiting formal release of the identification details from the Cameroonian authorities. Upon receipt of formal approval from the Cameroonian authorities Kenya Airways will immediately contact next of kin. We are working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure speedy conclusion of the identification and repatriation process.
Families will be notified of any progress as soon as Kenya Airways are permitted.
