Kenya Airways Revamps its Frequencies to the Far East.

Kenya Airways is set to unveil new winter timetable that will have increased frequencies to some of its Far East Destinations. In the new winter timetable which takes effect on 28th October 2008, the airline will launch direct flights to Guangzhou, China and increase frequencies to Bangkok and Hong Kong. Frequencies to Bangkok will go up from 6 to 7 times in a week and those to Hong Kong will move from 4 to 5 times a week.

Last week, Kenya Airways marked 5 years of operations to Bangkok. This anniversary celebration coincided with the graduation of 25 Thai crew who will be joining the airline’s cabin crew.  This brings to 46 the number of Thai current crew who will now join the airline’s complement of 863 cabin crew.

The anniversary ceremony was graced the Kenyan Ambassador to Thailand, H.E Dr Albert Ekai, top dignitaries, travel agents, and KQ passengers. During the ceremony the ambassador lauded the role played by Kenya Airways in facilitating trade between Kenya and Thailand.

In launching the non-stop flight from Nairobi to Guangzhou, Kenya Airways becomes the first airline in Sub-Saharan to launch a non-stop flight to mainland China. The 12 hours flights to Guangzhou will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on the airline’s Boeing 777 aircraft.

Kenya Airways has embarked on a strategy to consolidate its growth by improving its people, systems and frequencies to meet customer needs. In November, KQ is expected to launch flights to Madagascar.
