Kenya Airways launches takeoff 50% across Africa
18th February 2009. Kenya Airways has launched the “TakeOff 50%” to promote and grow intra-Africa traffic. This promotion is running 2 weeks starting February 18th across the airlines’ African network. Kenya Airways currently flies to over 30 destinations in Africa only and is expected to add Congo Brazzaville to its network next month. Under this offer, validity for outward travel runs till 15th June. Commercial director Richard Nuttall said that this offer, “will encourage Africans to travel within Africa for business and for pleasure.”
Kenya Airways will rely on its recently expanded fleet to meet the growing needs of intra-African traffic. In the last three months, KQ has taken delivery of 3 brand new Boeing 737-800s bringing the total number of such aircraft in the fleet to five. The airline’s fifth Boeing 737-800 which was received by the airline on 11th February made its maiden commercial flight to Accra.
